Merry Christmas
December 25, 2015Our first Christmas in our new home was a success! We found an excellent tree to put in our front bay window and learned that this side of the country doesn’t have noble or douglas fir trees. Instead, we got ourselves a Frasier fir that did a great job holding needles until the day we needed to dispose of it. Lia also found it enjoyable to touch and smell it every morning after she got up. She’s going to be daddy’s little girl in this manner.
We cooked a good sized ham with all the fixins’ for Xmas Eve then let Lia and the animals open their stockings. She didn’t really understand it much, but enjoyed taking everything out of the stockings and putting them aside. Next year she’ll be much more excited.
I’m guessing sugar plums were dancing in her head that night as Lia got up around 5:30am on Xmas Day and was wide awake. Much to the dismay of mommy and daddy, we got up (while it was still dark outside) and “started” Xmas. We showed her the gifts from Santa, which included a water play table, as well as all the large boxes she received. Opening them was a slow process but cleaning up was just as fun. A nap was had shortly thereafter around 9am. In the end, Lia received a slide, clothes, a couple development toys, books, stuff animals, play bibs and some crafts.
