Halloween & Pumpkin Patch

October 31, 2019

Unlike previous years, we decided to go to a different pumpkin patch that was a little closer to the house. But similar to Kinsey Farms, Big Springs Farms had plenty to do for kids with a great selection of pumpkins. But we didn’t end up staying as long as we normally do as our day was already packed and October in general was proving to be quite busy.

We met their animals, checked out their photo ops, picked out our pumpkins then headed back home. As I mentioned, October was proving to be quite busy so between Lia’s birthday and a work trip we all went on to NYC, we never even got to carve our pumpkins before Halloween, which was a bummer. We were even victims of pumpkin theft as some punk kids stole them off our porch later that night. I guess the good part about that was we didn’t have to clean up or throw them away ourselves.

My work trip lasted through Halloween but we had an early enough flight to get back home and get ready to go trick or treating. The bad part was a cold front that came through earlier that day that dropped the temps from the upper 60’s to the upper 30’s pretty quickly. It was freezing and the girls were shivering but they kept on going. The temps kept quite a few kids away too as we didn’t get as many as we have in years past.
